What people are saying…..
I’ve served on the boards of four nonprofits, chairing three of them. Why didn’t I have this book 10 years ago? Elizabeth Maring covers all the essential aspects of leadership and governance for a nonprofit. Her examples and insights are useful to seasoned executive directors and board chairs, and invaluable to those with less experience. If that’s you, or if you’re working with a less experienced person, do yourself the favor, buy the book, and save the bruises. This readily readable overview of the critical risks and issues in running a healthy nonprofit is a real service to the community.Carl Erickson, Founder & Executive Chairman, Atomic Object
Having years of experience as a consultant/board member to small and large nonprofit organizations, I found myself high fiving the content of every chapter of The Nonprofit Playbook. Elizabeth Maring has made this resource comprehensible, to-the-point, and actionable. From the indicators of an unhealthy founder culture, to the importance of developing a crisis management plan, this book equips, empowers, encourages and admonishes nonprofit teams to run their charities with excellence, integrity and wisdom. Keep this book handy as you will want to refer to it again and again.Deborah Pegues, CPA/MBA, Bestselling Author of LEAD LIKE A WOMAN
